Two bands that we’re excited to see at the Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival are Petracovich and Parker Street Cinema, both of whom were early featured bands on The Bay Bridged and have recently been working on new songs.

When we spoke to Jessica from Petracovich last year, we learned about how she began to develop her “folktronica” sound from experimenting on a single keyboard. According to a recent blog entry, that keyboard was unfortunately stolen, but that has not deterred Jessica from working on her third album, the follow-up to 2005’s We Are Wyoming. Of the new album, Jessica writes, “it’s got forward momentum, lots of foot-tapping, lots of trinkety percussion and interesting instruments.”

We’ve been waiting for the debut full-length from instrumental rock trio Parker Street Cinema since we interviewed them last year, enjoying their unique mix of atmosphere, melody and intensity. The band now reports that Music, in the Blood will be out in Septemner 2007. Right now, you can hear a new song entitled “These Precious Seconds” over at their MySpace page, and you can catch them as part of a “Piano Showcase” during the Mission Creek Music Festival:
