Cherry Glazerr, Palehound playing sold-out show at the Independent

(photo: Pamela Littky) Cherry Glazerr recently put out a new album called Stuffed and Ready (out now via Secretly Canadian), and are playing the Independent with Palehound on March 10. Cherry Glazerr has been touring North America since releasing their album in February, wrapping up the West Coast leg of their tour before heading out to Europe. Stuffed and Ready follows the band's 2017 Secretly Canadian debut, Apocalypstick. The release came with new videos for lead single “Daddi” (directed by Danny Cole), and "Wasted Nun" (directed by Jessica Collins). Stuffed and Ready finds Cherry Glazerr's founding guitarist and vocalist Clementine [...]

Review + Photos: Cherry Glazerr at The Catalyst

Cherry Glazerr (photo: Kaiya Gordon) Cherry Glazerr is a rock band. They are skilled, and they rock hard. Independent of their youthful fan-base, their sometimes kitschy lyrics, and (well-placed) critiques of the band as a vehicle for white feminism, Cherry Glazerr’s unique and energetic approach to punk rock makes for an incredible concert experience. But Cherry Glazerr’s talent onstage is often missed, passed over by press people and wary listeners who focus, instead, on superficial aspects of the band. At Santa Cruz’s Catalyst Club on February 12, there were no wary listeners. The night started off with Santa Cruz locals, Sundried, [...]

Cherry Glazerr come roaring back with ‘Apocalipstick,’ play Slim’s next year

Cherry Glazerr is gearing up for a colossal 2017 with a new album, label, and sound that leaves behind their slacker-styled indie rock in favor of giant drums, raucous guitars, and anthemic melodies. The band, which began in the LA bedroom of lead singer Clementine Creevy, will be releasing their new album Apocalipstick on January 20 via Secretly Canadian. Since announcing the release, the band has already unleashed two singles — the female solidarity hymn “Told You I’d Be With The Guys” and “Nurse Ratched.” The latter was delivered just in time for Halloween with a slasher-inspired video directed by [...]

Noise Pop 2015: Teenaged Cherry Glazerr rocks as hard as the big kids

Photos by Joey Pangilinan Review by Erin Browner Cherry Glazerr is what a teenage girl band should be — small but wild 18-year-old Clementine on lead vocals and guitar, her older boyfriend Sean Redman (resembling teen wolf) plays bass, and fellow senior high school Hannah Uribe on drums (they graduate in May). The band formed shortly after Clementine released a few bedroom pop recordings under the name Clembutt when she was 15. Burger Records approached her, she formed Cherry Glazerr, and now the band has a huge following of all ages singing along to songs about pizza monsters and crushes [...]
