James & Evander release Constellating EP

Constellating by James & Evander Oakland's James & Evander recently released this EP, which finds the guys incorporating vocals into their analog synth pop. I dig the humanizing effect of the vocals here, which pair well with the duo's longstanding knack for catchy, layered melodies. James & Evander will be performing at Milk on Wednesday, May 4th.

Ty Segall to release Ty Rex for Record Store Day

Outside Lands 2011 lineup announced: Muse, Phish, Arcade Fire to headline

Outside Lands just announced the lineup for this year's three day festival in Golden Gate Park, from August 12th through the 14th. Check it out below: It definitely seems to me like a stronger batch of bands than last year, especially on the undercard, which already features a bunch of great local indie bands. Thoughts?
