Mist Giant – "D-Loop"

Glass Walls by Mist Giant "D-Loop" is a winding, layered six-and-a-half minute jam from SF's Mist Giant, off the band's second EP, Glass Walls. The EP is out now on Velvet Blue Music, and Mist Giant will be participating in the Music Video Race to shoot a video for "D-Loop" in May.

Ten Bay Area-Related Releases for Record Store Day 2012

This Saturday is Record Store Day 2012, a time to celebrate independent record stores and break the bank snatching up exclusive, limited edition releases. Squeeze by PreTeen SF's PreTeen has released a new cassette EP, collecting eleven lo-fi pop songs from one of our favorite emerging indie pop bands. Apparently, the group is working on new material, which is good news, as is the fact that you can download Squeeze for free via Bandcamp.

tUnE-yArDs: new video for "My Country," Kickstarter project launched for SF Rock Project

Adding to the already-long list of reasons to love tUnE-yArDs, here's the band's new video for "My Country" (directed by Mimi Cave, who was also responsible for this clip for "Bizness"). The kids in the video come from Brightworks and the SF Rock Project, and the band has also launched a Kickstarter project to get an instrument lending library started for the Rock Project. tUnE-yArDs' spring and summer touring includes that live scoring gig at the SFIFF on April 23rd and a co-headlining date at the Fox with St. Vincent on the 24th. Friday: Shock (Sorcerer/Rubies) performs at Underground SF

With a debut record coming out later this year, local electronic pop band Shock (Dan Judd of Sorcerer/Windsurf, Terri Loewenthal of Rubies, and Michael Taras) are performing at a free epicsauce-produced show this Friday night. The above reworking by Chautauqua (Loose Shus and Randy "Hotthobo" Ellis) applies a new age synth palette to "Heaven." Listen to the original and a dub remix by The Beat Broker below.
