Next Thursday, funk-rock band Californicorns headline Great American Music Hall to release their newest album, Warm Oakland Nights. Originally the in-house band of beloved local performance arts mecca PianoFight, this 10-piece band raises the temperature of every room they're in with "shredded gnar and sultry croon" as their tools. They'll play the new album in its entirety Friday night. While we wait for the new tunes, check out last summer's "TYCO" from the band:

Ellisa Sun provides main support. Her music, oft compared to Amy Winehouse and Feist, combines elements of R&B, soul, and bossa nova. Check out her newest video for "Evening":

Starting the night off will be the fabulous Damn Fanatics. This band brings raw, heart-over-full rock and roll that bends a little funky and isn't afraid to get you sweaty. They also leave you feeling like you want to join the band so you too could have that much fun. (Looks like they're giving away two tickets, too.) This is an older song of theirs, but one of my personal favorites:
