Oakland-based band The Beloved Stranger took to the seas for five months, chronicled their journey, and are now debuting the first song of their new visual album. "Tequila Song" is the first in a twelve-part video series that follows the band on their 2013-14 voyage from Berkeley to Cartagena, Colombia on a forty-foot sailboat that shares the band's name.

According to the band, "Though their music is sometimes tongue-in-cheek, The Beloved Stranger believes that travel fosters empathy. They strive to create an impression of a time and place in song, to learn, and to make friends, one Stranger at a time."

The Beloved Stranger plans to release a new video from the series every week via the band’s YouTube page. "Tequila Song" captures the beginning of the group's journey, and subsequent videos will follow their voyage in chronological order, down the California coast, through Central America, and finally reaching Colombia.

The final video of the series will be presented at a free release party and live performance at the Cal Sailing Club in Berkeley on May 19th at 6 p.m.
