Last week, The Chapel of San Francisco announced an all-day affair on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 4pm. Eight different groups from up and down the California coastline, from Los Angeles to Oakland, will participate.
But the festival, created by Big Sur resident and owner of folkYEAH! Britt Govea is for more than just fun, art, and expression. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the Coast Property Owners Association's Big Sur Storm Relief Fund. The Big Sur Storm Relief Fund helps out-of-work and displaced Big Sur families who were affected by the slides from the season's rainfall. You can learn more about the CPOA's relief fund here.
Headlining the event is co-event curator Tim Presley and his band White Fence, and Once and Future Band of Oakland. The line up also includes San Francisco's Peacers, Mammatus from over the hill in Santa Cruz, The Range of Light Wilderness and Nico Georis from Big Sur, and Pesos of Los Angeles. Other groups include Earth Girl Helen Brown who split their time between LA and SF, Oakland's Mall Walk, and Wild Boy of Big Sur, as well as more surprise artists to be announced.
