The Y Axes at Slim's, by Robert AlleyneThe Y Axes (photo: Robert Alleyne)

It was a celebration of Bay Area music as all four bands on the bill last Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Slim's had some base in and around the area. It also was a night of celebrating an early release for The Y Axes new album, Umbra, due early November.

Be Calm Honcho started off the night strong. Following that was The Y Axes with an energetic set of songs, including a cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" and throwing out what were dubbed "lightsabers" (they may have been neon light tubes) to the audience. The Singing Limbs were on next with Mosaics closing out the night. The combination of the bands represented a multitude of the diversity of indie music in and around San Francisco," from the headliner's intertwining indie and electro for a potent sound to The Singing Limbs' soulful undertones that oozed warmth. Our photographer Robert Alleyne shared these insights along with the excellent photo gallery below of all the performers for your pleasure.
