Montreal psych-rock trio Elephant Stone announce their fourth full length LP, Ship Of Fools as well as a tour that hits the Midwest in October before travelling up the West Coast in early November.
The album announcement comes with two dates and two release strategies. On September 16, Ship Of Fools was made available digitally via Elephants on Parade, the band's own label, with physical copies launching via Burger Records the day after Thanksgiving. Accompanying the release is the music video debut of "Andromeda." An entertaining clip that features frontman/bassist Rishi Dhir as a spaceship captain, is available to view below.
The rest of Ship of Fools follows suit. The creation of its 11 tracks, as Dhir says, allowed him to embrace his true identity as "pop songwriter" whose tunes are custom built for the dance floor. Elephant Stone's refined vision on Ship of Fools is the realization of the gifts of a hardworking band. Add the talents of producer Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National) to the works, and the result is a stylistically diverse cut that explore the deep reaches of space rock, aggressive dance music, and sophisticated pop songwriting craft.
Catch them on November 4 at The Milk Bar in San Francisco, opening for area favorite, LSD and the Search For God.
