We’ve been in love with Lee Bob & The Truth’s “Mission Breakdown” since we first shared it with you late last year. Now they’re releasing a video of a live recording of the track, and it’s absolute fire.

What can you add to that? Lee Bob Watson and perhaps the most talented band in the Bay Area say it all. Drummer Joe Bagale and bassist Josh Lippi hold down the rhythm while Steve Wyreman drops a ridiculous solo and Lee Bob Watson shows us all how to front a damn rock and roll band. He’s got the voice and charisma and paints a vivid picture of our changing City with his words.

Lee Bob & The Truth are releasing their debut LP on Record Store Day (April 18) at just two stores – 101 Music in North Beach and The Record Parlour in Hollywood.

The raw video, which was filmed in the “Torta Oven”, not only showcases the band’s talent but also exemplifies their do-it-yourself spirit on this project. “It’s important to us to print vinyl and sell them at independent stores,” explains Lippi. “The nature of this project has been independent from the start. We have written, produced, recorded, designed the art work, media and printed the vinyls all independently, with no label support…This record was recorded very true to the spirit of the blues based rock & roll music we are inspired by, with more emphasis on capturing a moment rather than a “perfect” recording.”

Lee Bob & The Truth opens for Will Weston at Brick & Mortar on April 16. On Record Store Day, the band will perform a pair of shows: first at the Record Parlour at 5pm, followed by a set at The Virgil at 8pm. Look for an official Bay Area release show soon. GO SEE THIS BAND LIVE.
