A Million Billion Dying Suns

A Million Billion Dying Suns' first piece of vinyl is a 7" featuring Nate Mercereau and company's take on "Strawberry Letter 23" on its A-side. The band's heavy, blown-out rendering of the Shuggie Otis-penned classic feels like the polar opposite of the Brothers Johnson's breezy late '70s version, and it makes a strong case to no longer think of the earlier version as the definitive one.

Today, we're premiering AMBDS's video to accompany the song, which offers a series of iconic, surreal, or otherwise visually stimulating images filed into categories like "Love" and, gulp, "Death." Created by French Press Films, it's an intensely compelling clip, and it ends on a transcendent note befitting the song's powerful energy.

You can buy the 7" on Bandcamp and can see A Million Billion Dying Suns join Wye Oak, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, and many more at our 2014 Phono del Sol Music Festival.
