Jared Griffin, primary songwriter for San Francisco's Sioux City Kid was one of the first artists to put Jack White's refurbished Third Man Record Booth to use, recording the track "Heartbreak Shakedown" on Record Store Day in Nashville last month. They grabbed a turntable and luckily digitized the first play, as the record didn't play all the way through the second attempt. The throwback recording makes Griffin's gravelly voice even more gravelly – listen or download below. Sioux City Kid is finishing up its second LP for a release later this year, and will be playing a pair of Bay Area shows in the next coming months. Details along with another shot of the Third Man session and its finished product are below.Sioux City Kid
