Half-Handed Cloud
Every month, we dedicate a week of our podcast to highlighting some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing soon in the San Francisco Bay Area. We've got twelve great bands playing some excellent shows this month, so head out and see some live music!

Berkeley's Half-Handed Cloud ("Animals Are Cut In Two") kick off this week's show. Catch him at the Hemlock Tavern on Wednesday, March 11th with Lake and Little Wings.

Once a busker on the streets of Calgary, Chad VanGaalen ("City of Electric Light") is touring behind last year's Soft Airplane. Catch him with Women and Tempo No Tempo on Tuesday, March 31st at Bottom of the Hill.

The Botticellis ("Up Against The Glass [Live]") are heading down to Austin for SXSw, but before they go they'll be performing at the Rickshaw Stop with BLK JKS and The Dry Spells. That show is Monday, March 9th.

Say Hi's ("November Was White, December Was Grey") new album Oohs and Aahs is out today. On Thursday, March 12th, the band headlines a terrific show at Bottom of the Hill. Telekinesis, Built For The Sea and Anderson also perform.

LA's Part Time Punks are presenting The Homosexuals ("Slow Guns") who are touring behind Love Guns?, their first new vinyl release in 25 years. Magic Bullets and Brilliant Colors support the band on Tuesday, March 24th at Bottom of the Hill

Calgary's Azeda Booth ("Fiji Inn Hearts") just released the Tubtrek EP, available for free on their web site. The band will be joined by Battlehooch and 60 Watt Kid at the Hemlock Tavern on Tuesday, March 10th.

Citay ("First Fantasy") has two great upcoming shows. The band will be playing a sold-out night during the Akron/Family's Hemlock Tavern residency on Saturday, March 7th, and at Bottom of the Hill on Friday, March 27th with Marnie Stern and Beep Beep.

Bart Davenport ("Strangelife") celebrates the vinyl release of the excellent Palaces on Monday, March 9th at The Knockout. Vows, Mike Therieau and DJ Neil Martinson join Davenport at the show.

Before heading to SXSW, Portland band The Upsidedown ("Silver Wind") perform at Bottom of the Hill with Spindrift, Leopold And His Fiction and DJ Neil Martinson. That show takes place Tuesday, March 10th.

Celebrating the release of their third CD RHINOCEroses/Rabbit Noose, We Is Shore Dedicated ("Gladiator Cointoss") play the Rickshaw Stop on Thursday, March 12th. Viva Voce and Rafter also perform.

Touring in anticipation of his upcoming album The Atlantic Ocean, Richard Swift ("Lady Luck") headlines a Rickshaw Stop show on Wednesday, March 11th, with We Barbarians and The Hot Toddies supporting.

Wooden Shjips ("Death's Not Your Friend") are part of a great psych rock bill on Saturday, March 28th at Cafe Du Nord. Earthless and Eyes also perform.
